ABOUT THE FLUTE
The Flute appeared in Greece and Etruria as early as the 2nd century BC. Originally made of wood, the flute is now made from silver or gold and is about 2 feet in length. It looks like a narrow tube with a row of holes covered by keys along one side. The player blows air across the small hole in the mouthpiece to produce a sound that can be either soft and mellow or high and piercing. Today, the flute is a part of the highest-pitch woodwind section of the modern orchestra and is one of the solo instruments most utilized by composers.

For younger students, this curved head joint option offers an easier reach to the lip plates while maintaining a comfortable position.

  

You may choose to purchase our optional damage protection for your rental instrument. This covers any repair of damage which may occur to your instrument during the rental period, except for that which is determined by String Season to be caused by blatant negligence. Theft or loss of the instrument is not covered under damage protection. Damage protection is non-refundable.

This is a special rental rate that allows you to keep your instrument for the entire school year. IMPORTANT SHIPPING INFORMATION:
When renting a curved head flute from us you will be charged a discounted flat-rate shipping fee that covers the shipment of the instrument to you and back from you. You will receive a convenient shipping packet with your instrument that includes a return shipping label and easy to follow packing / return instructions. DO NOT DISCARD PACKAGING MATERIALS. If you are late returning your rental instrument or if you do not inform us of your intentions to renew your rental period, we will continue to charge the prevailing monthly default rate on a month-to-month basis until we receive the instrument.

If you are a member of CHILDRENS MUSIC WORKSHOP we will deliver your instrument to your school and pick it up from your school at the end of your rental term FREE OF CHARGE. You are responsible for contacting us when you have returned your instrument to the school's main office. If you are late returning your rental instrument or if you do not inform us of your intentions to renew your rental period, we will continue to charge the prevailing monthly default rate on a month-to-month basis until we receive the instrument.
